STARTING POINT PLAYLIST 3/27/12

Soledad O'Brien's first playlist pick today was "Without You" by David Guetta featuring Usher. The song has been a smash hit over the last few months: it reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, and a cover version by theGlee cast also charted in the top 40.

"Raise Your Glass" by P!nk also made Soledad's playlist this morning. The song, one of two new songs recorded for P!nk's compilation album Greatest Hits... So Far!!!, was a surprise hit, topping the charts in late 2010.

Political comedian and Starting Point panelist John Fugelsang picked "The World Should Revolve Around Me," the debut single of American R&B due Little Jackie. While the song did not chart stateside, it was a top 40 hit on the UK and Irish charts in 2008.

Fleetwood Mac's early eighties hit "Gypsy" made Contributing Editor Kelo Goff's playlist today. The legendary band is reportedly considering touring this year, which marks 45 years since the original band's inception.

Marc Anthony's "I Need To Know" was Early Start anchor Zoraida Sambolin's pick this morning. The song was one of the biggest English-language hits of Anthony's career, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning a Grammy in 2000.

Mumford & Sons have sold over a million downloads of their song "The Cave," and received four Grammy nominations for the hit. Today, it made Soledad O'Brien's Starting Point playlist.

When New Edition went on hiatus in 1990, Bobby Brown wasn't the only member to find success outside of the group. Three former Edition singers formed Bell Biv DeVoe, and they had a top five hit in 1990 with "Poison," Keli Goff's next pick today.

John Fugelsang's next pick today was "Girls in Their Summer Clothes" by Bruce Springsteen, a track from his 2007 album Magic. The Boss just released a new album, Wrecking Ball, which debuted at number one last month.
