A new biography about President Obama contains some startling new revelations. The book, David Maraniss's "Barack Obama: The Story" questions the president's history as detailed in Obama's memoir, "Dreams from my Father." The new book details discrepancies between what we've been told about President Obama's life and what Maraniss says really happened.
Ben smith, Buzzfeed.com's editor-in-chief, shares his analysis of the book and whether the discrepancies really matter.
In the context of comparing "little white lies" in "Dreams from My Father" to a decade of some really big whoppers from Mitt Romney, I'd say it matters not at all. Well, except to the birthers, the racists, the whingers on the Right...
It amazes me every time I go to PolitiFact.com and look at the difference between the "truthiness" of Barack Obama and that of Mitt Romney (who isn't even the most egregious liar in the GOP; that would be Newt Gingrich). Percentage-wise, BHO has only ONE PERCENT (5) of "Pants-on-Fire" lies of a total of 374 total statements analyzed; Mitt Romney has TEN PERCENT (13) "Pants-on-Fire" lies for his 135 analyzed statements.
