Aurora's Mayor Steve Hogan says the families of the victims were "very touched" by the president's visit. Mayor Hogan says "The governor, the president and I went from family to family group. People needed to talk, they needed to start greiving, they needed to tell us stories." The Mayor went on to say that the shooting is "never something that you plan for. Its just.. almost surreal."

The Mayor went on to say the community has to go through "a grieving process, then you start a healing process."
