Rep. Randy Forbes weighs in on the negative tone of the presidential campaign

According to a new poll, the negative tone of the presidential campaign might be taking a toll on both candidates.

The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows that 43% of voters now have an unfavorable view of the president, up from 38% in June. 40% of respondents have a negative view of Mitt Romney, up a point.

When asked which candidate is conducting a more negative campaign, 22% say Obama, while 12% say Romney. 34% say that both candidates are running negative campaigns.

Rep. Randy Forbes joins Starting Point this morning to respond to this polling and to weigh in on the potential repercussions of negative campaigning.
