By winning the gold medal in the women's gymnastics individual all-around competition, Gabby Douglas has proven that she's a force to be reckoned with. Douglas made history last night as she powered through all four events with nearly flawless performances, earning herself a score of 63.323.
However, despite her stellar performance, people aren't fixated solely on Douglas' athletic prowess. The world-class Olympian is taking heat for her hair, which was slicked back and covered in pins and gel so that it stays in place during her high-energy performances. The Daily Beast says that Douglas' hair appears to be chemically relaxed, with a human-hair ponytail for height.
After Douglas' win, her hair was a popular topic on Twitter, with users saying things like, "Gabby Douglas has to do something with her hair!" and "Why hasn't anyone tried to fix Gabby Douglas' hair?"
Soledad O'Brien and the Starting Point panelists respond to the critics on the show this morning.
