Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is calling on President Obama to ask Priorities USA to yank a new ad that links Romney to the death of former steelworker's wife. Blackburn says, "This is such a sad ad to me, that this family would be pulled into this and this issue... You know what – this just needs to come off and I think the president could indeed call that super PAC and say you know what lets get this thing down." The Romney campaign surrogate went on to say, "This is disrespectful for the deceased, its sad for the family. It has no place in this debate."
Another new ad across politician lines from the Romney campaign accuses President Obama of gutting welfare work restrictions. However, former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich says there is no proof to support that claim about Obama's plan. In response to the new ad and Gingrich's comments Blackburn says, during her time as a state legislator "being able to look at those work requirements and incentivise work" is how states like hers have been able to "help individuals move to productivity, jobs and work and have these success stories that they tell."
