Reince Priebus talks about the latest Romney campaign bus tour and preparing for the GOP convention

According to a new national CNN/ORC poll president Obama is leading Mitt Romney by 7-points, 52% to 45%. Reince Priebus, who serves as the Chairman of the Republican National Committee says he feels “very good” about where his candidate Mitt Romney currently stands. Priebus says, “I think that there’s a lot of work to do. I think that the stark contrasts are very clear. When you look underneath those polls you see that when people are asked if Barack Obama fulfilled his promises in regards to the economy, people know that that’s not true.”

Currently the Chairman is preparing for the GOP convention as well as a candidate's four-day bus tour scheduled to kick off tomorrow. Romney is expected to travel through Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio. Priebus says, “Were going to be leading up to a big convention here at the end of August, I think we’re going to have a great fall.” “The Republican National committee and Mitt Romney now together have more money in the bank, actually I think twice or three times the money now in the bank that the DNC has. So we’re going to be spending all of our money now which you’re starting to see happen around the country…and I think you’re going to see us being able to outspend our opponent at the end.”

Priebus also spoke about Donald Trump’s role at the convention. He says, “Donald Trumps a good friend of our party and I’m thankful to Donald Trump for all the work he’s done for us and for governor Romney… I don’t know right now what he’s going to do at the convention but I do know that he’s important to us and he’s somebody that we appreciate.”
