Romney Foreign Policy Adviser Rep. Diaz-Balart: President Obama has 'failed miserably,' is 'clueless'

This morning on "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien," Romney Foreign Policy Adviser Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) weighs in on President Obama's speech to the Democratic National Convention, and argues that the Obama presidency has 'failed miserably.'

"President Obama wants to change America," he says. "I understand that. We don't need to change America. We need to change the White House. We need to change the leadership in the White House. It's very clear...that President Obama, who has tried, has failed, miserably has failed. It's not for lack of trying. He's just...he's clueless. Mitt Romney does present a totally different agenda: A person who understands how the economy works who has specific plans that are not President Bush's plan. They're Governor Romney's agenda."

Reagan raised taxes. How is Romney even in the same arena as him?

Failed? Romney asked if we're better off today than we were four years ago. Yes. Hell Yes. Four years ago, our economy was in a free fall (thanks to a Republican administration that destroyed the economy in just eight years). Four years later, no one is talking about whether or not we're in a recession or a depression. The Dow is at record levels indicating that Wall Street seems pretty confident in the direction we're going in. Could things be better? Of course. Hopefully in this election,we'll get a start by kicking out all of the obstructionist Tea Party garbage that deliberately blocks the country's progress (even ideas with Republican roots) only to say Obama failed. Look at the record and be honest. You know its true. All that aside, how can anyone think Romney would succeed? His agenda? What is it? You say it's not Bush's plan, then what is it? It sounds like Bush's plan. The same old trickle down crap that's failed miserably over and over again. Where's Romney's plan? Still working on it? Or still working on two or three so he has something on which to flip-flop. Please do not insult me by saying we should trust him. His business experience was as a real life Gordon Gecko.

So who failed? You failed. Republicans failed to destroy this country enough to blame it on the black guy.

I do not understand this myth that has been perpetuated about Republicans being better in handling the economy than Democrats. History says otherwise. More jobs have been created with a Democrat in the White House. The stock market has done better with a Democrat in the White House. No one can argue that Dick and Bush trashed this nation's economy. Republicans have also been responsible for increasing the budget deficit far more than the Democrats. A Republican was in office during all three major stock market crashes. We don't even have to get into Nixon's record (the term 'Stagflation' kinda speaks for itself). Reagan promised to balance the budget. Eight years later it more than quadrupled. Bush II entered with a budge surplus. Eight years later, well. You know what happened, and you should be honest about why it happened, and about the fact that it will happen again if the Republican's Stepford candidate is elected.

So, you say Obama failed? Who are you crappin'?

This guy isn't saying anything substantial. What is Romney's awesome economic recovery agenda? Does anyone know? He seems a bit smarmy for not having anything tangible to bring to the table except criticism. Fail.

He would have been able to do almost everything he said were it not for a congress that fights him every step of the way. They fight him on purpose so they an say as the idiot talking 'he has failed". These Romneyites all read from the same script. None have said how Romney would do a better job. They don't know.
