This morning on "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien," Romney Campaign Senior Communications Advisor Tara Wall says there's a 'clear difference' between the foreign policy plans of her candidate and President Obama.
"Americans need to understand there is a clear and distinct choice between these candidates, relative to their approaches to foreign policy and how we lead, how we have led, how this president has led, how this president failed to lead it in a large degree, even just recently," Wall says.
Soledad points out that Romney's foreign policy plan is very similar to President Obama's, and pushes Wall for details on those differences.
"I'm sure you can find similarities in a number of positions with leaders on a number of different issues," Wall adds. "There are those clear differences that have been spelled out, that we do spell out. and the approach that this governor takes and plans to take relative to cracking down on terrorists and enemies and those who are out to harm us and out to harm our allies."
The conversation became heated when Soledad asks Wall about Romney's position on the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Soledad notes the contradicting points from a secret video tape released earlier this year, where Romney says "I'm torn by two perspectives in this regard. One is the one which I've had for some time, which is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace. And that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish." Soledad compares that to Romney's upcoming foreign policy speech today, where excerpts say he will "recommit America to the goal of a democratic, prosperous Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with the Jewish state of Israel."
"We will stand side-by-side with Israel, and the Governor has made that clear," Wall says. "I'm not going to get into a big foreign policy debate with you here...that's not my position, not my role. If you want to talk about that I suggest you put on a couple of foreign affairs experts and let them go at it and pick this apart in the way you'd like to have it picked apart. But I think we've clearly stated what our position is."

Damn, Romney is a clueless guy, his whole campaign is a joke and only the rich people are supporting this moron.
Now he is trying to copy what Obama is doing and his belief that his plan is totally different? Jesus Christ, wake the hell up America, stop this non sense and vote for Obama and let Romney go back to his everyday stupidness.
Damn, whoever is going to be voting for Romney is blind.
Romney is a clueless guy that has no idea what the hell he is talking about.
@Bruce. (Obama has Hillary, who does Romney have?) John Bolton. Be afraid, very afraid.
I have to disagree, Bruce. Each and every war in history eventually came to an end and I do not think that the war between Israel and the Palestinians will become the first exception and will last forever. There sre three ways to end a war, to WIN, to LOSE and to MAKE PEACE. Israel can not afford to lose a war meaning that it's up to the Palestinians to choose between the two remaining options. If, at some point Israel will decide that it makes no sense to convince the Palestinians to NEGOTGIATE a mutually acceptable settlement it (Israel) will impose a unilateral solution and the Palestinians will be forced to accept it.
Tara Wall is just another Romney "soapbox-er". I am very cynical about peace in the Middle East. To some extent, Romney's suppositions about Palestine are not a bad guess. The Palestinians will not "settle" under any circumstances. They are committed to the annihilation of Israel, and are hoping the Iranians will do it for them. It should always be the goal to work towards a peaceful compromise, but I doubt I will see it in my lifetime. [I am 68y/o]
Regarding the differences in Foreign Policy, Obama knows what he's doing, Romney hasn't got a clue. Obama has Hillary, who does Romney have?
Bruce, you obviously are an Obama "soapbox-er". Of course Romney doesn't have a Secretary of State! He is not the President! (Yet) And Hillary is about as good as a car with three wheels when it comes to foreign policy. I think that Soledad playing sound-bytes and not playing the entire clip about the foreign policy was what was contradictory in the interview. Not Tara Wall. And, "Obama knows what he is doing." Really?? Are you joking?? Because I don't think that apologizing to the enemy is a great idea. I don't think showing submission to the leader of another country is a great idea either. You are in a transitive state of mind if you honestly believe this "President" of ours is at all a success in policy or anything else for that matter, sir.
At what point will Romney actually be specific about his policies? " Stand shoulder to shoulder", exactly what does that mean? Attack Iran? Who attacks? Never settle the West Bank issue? Never settle
the two state issue? America is not the only player in the Mid East. What support do we have for more Texas gunslinger behavior? Kinda wants to make you throw your hands up in disgust!
Thanks for stopping candidate spokespeople from showing up and dropping their load of talking points. Newscasters who don’t stop them allow their shows to be turned into toilets, for campaigns to dump on the viewers.
Am I the only one that feels Soldad constantly interrupts and argues with any Republican guest speaker when she does get the answer she wants to hear? Yet she nevers interrupts any Democratic pundit and even promotes there position. It seems she is extremely biased and sits on the far left side of the aisle. I thought a "REPORTER" was suppose to present both opinions in an UNBIASED manner and not promote either agenda including their own.
It must be that either she, acting on her own personal agenda, or CNN is leaning heavily to the LEFT. Too bad for all of us out hear who would like to hear both sides of the argument and not just hers.
