Jessica Vega was arrested after claiming she had been diagnosed with leukemia in order to raise funds for a lavish wedding and honeymoon.

Vega's fake cancer scheme lasted six months and netted her thousands of dollars including an all-expense-paid honeymoon to Aruba.

She told people she had cancer and wanted to marry the father of her young daughter before she passed. Once her husband found out he had been duped he filed for divorce, and helped the attorney general investigate her. Vega faces 24 years behind bars if convicted.
