[UPDATED 7:37amET] Michael Waldman w/ the Brennan Center re: Florida's voter purge attempt, says 'we have a long history of messed up elections in this country.'
[UPDATED 7:07amET] Leo Gerard w/ the United Steel Workers, who is on to discuss whether President Obama or Mitt Romney is more in touch with what is happening in the economy, say economy would be a lot better if Republicans would pull their weight. Regarding the Wis. recall, he says we should worry re: private $$ in electoral system. "We can't put democracy up for sale."
Shame, shame, shame something the "white" American is in too short supply...shame is what keeps would be deviants from acting on their filthy impulses. Anything goes in USA and down into the depths it will take this country.
Has anyone considered that unemployment is not just due to the economy, but to advances in technology which is causing companies to operate more efficiently with less staff. I know plenty of people who have lost their jobs not because the companies are in an economic downturn, but becasue of automation efforts, computerized operations, etc. This leads to fewer bodies needed to do a job the computer can do.
Compnanies are striving to improve efficiencies. Hiring IT professionals to help develop a more efficient, better and more customer savvy business environment.
If you ask me, this is a big reason we will continue to see a rise (or no decrease) in unemeployment for years to come. Jobs are in technology...not for a postal workers, not for a data entry clerks, not for an order processor.
Take it from me, I work in IT and my job is to create new ways to automate processes that our agents perform today. I can assure you this time next year, I won't need half the agents I have today. And it's not becasue of the economy. It's becasue it's smart and efficient way to do business.
It's ggod to see that Margaret Hoover has com over to the dark side. I always thought she was a little too s lutty for Fox. She's a better fit on CNN Starting Point.
What would Obama's Second Term look like, more than likely like, Bill Clintons and George Bush II, with a second term. By what percentage whom knows. However if he wins and is re'elected, hopefully the economy and its budget will be on his agenda, More or less building up the focal structure of America's foundation and its very fiber. From the under educated to joblessness, homelessness, hungry and medically challenged peoples, and those of the armed forces and their familes. As well as guard our boarders and build up America's Levys,so there won't be another situation like Katerina/Louisana. Basically put the people first. Not the bridges and roads or the bankers or car dealerships. Yet more inportantly. Mitt Romney or Barrack Obama. Out of the two, only one said, "Yes We Can". So if given a chance, perhaps he can!
Soledad, I love you....but it pains me to see Will Cain so distressed when presented with evidence that Fla's Gov Scott has tried to manipulate the rules to eliminate the minority vote. Please tell him not to worry....the great state of Florida has already exhibited it's magnificent ability for fraudulent elections in the 2000 presidential election. Will has nothing to worry about.
Incredilble...I just watched Soledad's interview of Romney's and Obama's campaign people about Obama's "The private sector is fine" statement vs. Romney's response. Obama's rep received twice the time Romney's rep did. While Obama's rep was allowed uninterrupted time to respond Soledad constantly interrupted Remney's rep with a look of utter contempt on her face the entire time. Can't she even pretend to be a professional journalist???? I thought Starting point was a news show not an opinion show.
Of course Anderson Cooper is busy running in circles (360) so I guess Soledad can have her one sided program.

It's no wonder CNN viewers are the least informed of current affairs. Here we have a discussion about Florida not wanting illegals to vote. THat discussion could not be considered a debate because, in true CNN fashion, you are only hearing 1/2 the story. Want to hear the other half...tune into FOX.
I'm an independent who wants to hear the whole story, not just CNN's liberal take.
Tom
Sidewalk "chalk art" is not necessarily a bad thing. See attached link.

Seriously. The private sector is experiencing the largest profits they have ever had in the history of the US. They are also sitting on $3 Trillion in Cash, more then the Federal Reserve. Romney thinks this is not doing well.
The private sector is saving it's money to pay more and more taxes. Unlike the Government, the private sector must EARN their money while the Government can just suck it out of your paycheck at will. Give private sectors that same collection method and they will begin spending money just as recklessly as our elected officials.
Tom
AMEN! The prvate sector works just the opposite of government.
In the private sector, it's, "How much money do we have?" Then decision are made to manufacture, buy, etc., or to hire/lay off staff. The same with our personal finances. We balance our checkbooks and, if we don't have the money, we don't spend.
With government, it's, "We want this" so we'll make the money, (aka loans from China, increase the deficit, raise taxes) in order to get it.
If the private sector acted lke government- every country in the U.S. would be bankrupt!!!
Sorry, post should have said, "every BUSINESS in the country would be bankrupt!"
Tom, are you crazy. Corporations pay on average today roughly 13% in taxes and account for 7% of all taxes collected in the US. As opposed to 1980 when corporations made up 25% of all tax revenue collected in this country. I don't think they have it so bad. A real hardship I can see.
