Coming up Thursday on Starting Point: Soledad O'Brien interviews US women's gymnastics team's 'Fierce Five'

People are calling the US women's gymnastics team America's new "Golden Girls." Though don't call them that to their faces – they want to be known as the "Fierce Five."

The gymnasts are back home after winning gold in women's gymnastics at the London Olympics. It was the first time Team USA took gold in the event since the Magnificent Seven in the 1996 Atlanta Games.

The "Fierce Five" were unstoppable, from their impressive vaults, incredible flips and powerful finish on the floor exercise.

Soledad talks with Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber about their amazing wins, and in this preview clip, Soledad asks them what it's like to be role models for the next generation of young gymnasts.

Watch the whole interview on "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien" tomorrow, Thursday Aug. 16th at 7am Eastern on CNN.

"“Editorially, I was not reading off the Talking Points Memo,” she told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday. “The memo had an accurate, verbatim quote of what Sen. Wyden said, and when I was talking to Ms. Comstock, she was saying something that was patently untrue.”

I'm sorry, but I'm still confused.

Why use TPM if the goal was just to get a "verbatim" quote from Sen. Wyden's office?

Is TPM the sole source of verbatim Sen. Wyden quotes?

Do Sen. Wyden's verbatim quotes exist outside the TPM site?

Thanks, and, as always, good luck in the ratings struggles.

    Your Pal,

    AV

Thought I'd share this with you. I wish I wrote it, but I didn't.

"O’Brien is probably the single worst anchor in broadcast journalism. At least Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Chris Matthews are hosting talk shows that confirm their own bias, but nobody does as poor a job of hiding her lack of objectivity as O’Brien. Her claim to centrism is laughable and easily disproven by comparing her interviews of conservatives to those of liberals."

P.S. Hey Soledad, your interview with the Hollywood Reporter is trending on twitter......

    Uh, The reaction?

    Not good.

Are CNN executives concerned that NO ONE is commenting here?

    Aside: Congratulations to Soledad.

    Great job today, Soledad.

You managed to get through an entire day without being mocked, ridiculed, and making a fool of yourself on National TV.

    If only anyone were watching.

    Baby Steps.

    Keep up the good work.

Last Tuesday you were only beat by the (insipid) Fox & Friends by about 5:1 in the ratings.
