Why did Candy Crowley interject on Libya in debate? She wanted to 'move this along'
This morning on "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien," CNN's Candy Crowley talks about her experience moderating the second presidential debate with Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.
Many folks are talking about Crowley's statement that President Obama was right when he claimed that he called the U.S. Consulate attack in Benghazi an "act of terror."
"I was trying to move this along," Crowley says. "The question was Benghazi...there was this point they both kind of looked at me, you know, Romney's looking at me, the president is looking at me, and I wanted to move this along. Can we get back to the - so I said, he did say "acts of terror", called it an "act of terror", but Governor Romney, you were perfectly right that it took weeks for them to get past the tape."

It appeared Crowley allowed Obama to run on a longer leash than she permitted for Romney. As a moderator, I feel
she should have tried a little harder to be neutral, but her leaning toward Obama was pretty obvious especially with the
way she handled the Libya issue. I know she later admitted that Romney was right, but if she had been neutral like
she was supposed to be, then the media would not have this issue to beat her and Obama over the head with. Sorry
Crowley, you have given up you credibility as a moderator or even a reporter.
A lot of people won bets on Candy Crowley – the bet that somehow she would skewer an important point being made by
Romney in order to save Obama's face. Why or why and when oh when will we ever see a press that plays by the
rules. Crowley's excuse is a "waffle." She owes the TV audience as well as Mitt Romney an abject apology. Shame on her, and shame on the press.
Candy Crowley was totally out of line in defending Pres Obama's lie about wheather he told the American public that the event in Libya was caused by a riot or a terrorist act. Will CNN do the right thing & reprimand her? I doubt it.
Candy Crowley should be fired. Since she interrupted Govern Romney more times than she did with the President, she was not the person to moderate this debate. I watched the complete debate, since I was undecided.
The responses that the President gave and Crowley backing and directing the President, they made up my mind for me.
I will be voting for Govern Romney.
I am totally appalled that CNN allowed one of their news people to behave in this manner. Guess I won't be watching CNN can't trust them right now,.
Candy Crowley: biased, arrogant, activist and just a liar.
She was not trying to move things along. She did exactly what she said she would do. Trying to be a star? Trying to be more than a moderator? How did that work out for you, Candy. She tried to save herself by throwing Romney a bone saying he was also correct but her bias had already shown through. Ooops! Now she's trying to cover up the mistake same way as the administration. Probably going to wait 14 days before she admits that it's an "act of liberalism". If Obama wins, Crowley will probably brag that her "act" gave him a second term.
It's just amazing that the indoctrinated, brain-washed lemmings who idolize BO (including CNN) can't read a transcript and see that he ABSOLUTELY DID NOT call the Benghazi attack a terrorist attack! During his speech in the rose garden, he referred to "the attack" many times, but never as a terrorist attack:
An attack; outrageous and shocking attack; senseless violence; brutal acts; this attack, this attack; terrible attack. So, he characterized "the attack" eight times, but not once did he call it a terrorist attack.
As for the "attackers" themselves, he never referred to them as terrorists, either. He called them, "killers" once, and "attackers" twice. Three opportunities, and he DID NOT refer to the perpetrators as terrorists.
Late in his speech, after talking about the original 9/11 attacks, he made a generic statement: "No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for." He did not say "This act of terror." If he said, "This act of terror...," then I would say BO was correct about calling it a terrorist attack. But, he did not.
If plain English does not prove he never called it a terrorist attack, then look at his actions. He immediately headed out to campaign. Not exactly a "presidential" action by someone who thought the "acts" were wrought by terrorists. In the mean time, he, and everyone else in his administration, continued to blame a video trailer for "the act." You just can't have it both ways! It's either one, or the other.
But the harm done to our country in the past four years, and possibly the next four, cannot be completely placed on the shoulders of BO. The media have to share a good portion of it, because of their unprecedented, unwavering love for this man. If they had held his feet to the fire, as all journalists are expected to do, not only would BO have been a better president, but the country would be in better shape. Shame on CNN, Candy Crowley, and all of the other completely biased journalists who run interference and make excuses for this man.
Crowley was so blatantly biased. Comments on Libya would get others fired. Shame on CNN for YOUR BIAS what happened to neutrality?!
It was quite obvious to anyone watching that Crowley was blatantly helping Obama along in that debate. The best example of this is when she came straight to the rescue of the president when he faced tough questioning from Romney over the Libya attacks.

I know that the word "bipartisan" is in the definition of the word "moderator" except the moderator did not show signs of any.
I was dismayed that Crowley jumped out with that statement so quickly. It actually looked orchestrated – as if she had coordinated with the Obama campaign to 'correct' Romney.
I also believe Crowley cut off Romney over and over again while allowing Obama to drone on and on several minutes more that Romney on the CNN time clock.
Crowley certainly lost my respect last night. I'll watch MSNBC next time......

That called it an "act of terror" was just Obama's feeling. And his Administration took weeks to clear it the terror attack.
Obviously, both Obama and his Administration were working in the very passive situation. That's awful enough!
The second debate was a disaster, why? because of a midiator not knowing what she was doing & why she was there for. Debate in my knowledge means that tow or more people sit & talk about their idea & their proposal, while t6he others are listenning with no interuption and waiting for their turn, that is what I call respectfull debate.
But unfortunatly the Midiator did not follow the rules & maybe did not know what the rules are, and let the Vice President to interupte for 82 times, seems like both the Midiator & Vice President do not know what the rules should be, or maybe they know but do not care, because they got the power to do that. The second Presidential debate was worse, sorry Candy Crowley seems like you are the same as others, maybe worse, you don't Fact Check as Midiator during the Debate, & take sides to let people express their feelings while it was not allowed.
We as a family of 37 of us decided not to watch any more debates on CNN, specially if it is Midiated by Candy.

I thought Crowley at times did well. The problems that I had with her performance was she tried to become a participant in the debate and supported the President Obama's position or gave him opportunities to clarify or rebut something that Romney had said but denied Mr. Romney the same courtesy. She became part of the debate by her actions and also gave Mr. Obama additional time to speak and interrupt Mr. Romney. Her bias was shown repeatedly. She should never be place in put into the role of a debate moderator again!

I feel that Candy Crowley did her best given the political slant of the network she respresents. I found this" jumping in" on her part unacceptable. After watching 3 debates, 2 Presidenial and one Vice Presidential, I find the moderators out of line, biased and above all lacking the capability of controlling the event for a veriety of reasons. In this situation it gave the President an unaffair and unsubstantiated advantage.
That aside we need to get back to the basics. We need moderators who are not major news network personalities with perceived preconvieved biases and something to gainpersonally from their appearance. Let's recruit some good old average Americans to lead the discussion, support civility and randomly, at the moment, select previosly submitted questions in a blind draw for the candidates to answer. We also need a referee to control the event and manage the time equally. To date one side has had more time to answer or respond than the other with little or no content of value.
Let's get to solid answers and debates of value. Right now last night's and the VP debate were lacking content and uncontrolled and in particular the VP debate, one person ( the present VP and next in line for the Presidency) acting like a bafoon). Can anyone imagine that person leading the contry?!?!

Candy screwed up. It was a major gaff. She was wrong.
It's too bad Candy couldn't keep her own political views under wraps during the debate. Obviously she felt Obama needed her help. She says she wanted to 'move this along' but really just wanted to move it over to Obama. How pathetic. And where did these 'uncommitted' people come from and the questions? Seriously?
Crowley's bias toward Obama was obvious from the start. Her covering for his rose garden comment was dishonest and despicable. It was very apparent that Obama knew the questions before hand and had a pre prepared response. The credibility of CNN and Crowley is totally in the tank. The quicker that CNN tanks the better, and Crowley and her fat ass is on food stamps!
This incident was badly handled. It looked like Crowley was an advocate for Obama, and I'm certain, that in fact, she IS!
Romney is far from the only one who wants some answers on what the purpose of the Obama lies about the terror attack cause, is all about......and make NO mistake......the administration had EVERYONE lying about that!
Whether Obama feared losing voters in the election, or whether it is more sinister, is the unanswered question. The voters deserve answers, and Crowley stopped the discussion. Totally wrong thing to do.
The problem is that Ms. Crowley jumped into the debate to defend Obama's answer. She didn't do that for Romney and she had opportunities to do so. It's hard to argue that there wasn't bias in her actions. The debate system may be flawed but it isn't Ms. Crowley's place to go rogue and decide to change it because she has an opportunity to do so. Regardless if people thought she was right or wrong, it simply wasn't her place to hijack the debate. 10 bucks says she never gets invited to moderate another debate. She will be blackballed by both parties for eternity”
Candy did a wonderful job with a bully...Romney...he bullied Candy and was disrespectful of the President and the audience....I will now plan on watching Candy in support of her honesty and professionalism!!
The problem with Crowley wasn't the substance of what she said – the problem was that she said anything at all. What gives her the right to interject her own interpretation of events into a presidential debate? It was disgraceful, regardless of who it helped or hurt.
Candy Crowley dd fantastic overall. Pleople are splittig hairs over this. Crowley fact checked both sides appropriately in a tense moment. Neither side is entirely correct or wrong on this issue. Bottom line, lets not try to score political points over American deaths. Thats just pathetic for a candidate to exploit this issue that is still being investigated.

How dare Ms Crowley correct a candidate. Her job was a moderator. None of her opinions should be interjected. She was completely out of line. She continually interrupted Governor Romney and allowed President Obama to speak for almost 4 minutes longer. She might as well have worn a ""Vote for Obama" t-shirt. She should be fired!
I understand that moderating a debate is difficult, but I have a few concerns:
If you are not up to the job, then decline the position.
I understand that errors can take place in the frenzy of a debate, but it is suspect when all errors fall to one side.
The fourth Estate has morphed into the democrat party.
Romney is a chameleon – he changes color to stay out of trouble. While his deeds favor hands-off free enterprise, he'll appears to support laws against it. He professes to be a champion of the middle-class but his deeds say otherwise. He failed, when he tried to criticize President Obama leadership on the massacre of American staff in Libya. He;ll also fail when America tells him they want nothing of his brand of Social Security, Medicare, taxes, immigration, etc. His tactic of trying to appear to Americans as "I am as you desire me," are the words of a slick debater. I don't trust him!
Ms Crowly interrupted Romnet 28 times vs 9 for Obama, then she took sides (wrongly) with Obama over the benghazi incident. Our democracy only works when the media is truly impartial and that is CLEARLY not the case now. I think the liberal media should look in the mirror and ask how it would feel if a strongly conservative organization were treating Demopcrats unfairly. The presidential debates are supposed to be between the candidates, not candidate and biased moderator against the other candidate. Candy Crowley definitely showed her bias, throwing a lifeline to Obama with a statement that has been proven wrong. Candy was not supposed to be the star, It was not all about her. I have an observation. This scenario was completely contrived in advance between Obama and Candy. Go back and watch the entire interaction for the entire context. Romney challenged Obama on the Rose Garden statement. Immediately Obama steps up and commands Candy to produce the transcript.....what transcript??? She must have had it ready because she stood up waving a paper and started reading from it. She had gotten her prearranged signal from Obama to bring it out and dispute the Romney narrative. This was obviously set up ahead of time because Candy knew the question was coming..she picked them. She completely disrupted Romney's narrative. This interaction was all planned out ahead of time with Obama.....FRAUD..FRAUD...Fraud....She should be put in jail..

Crowley gave the defining example of why moederators are wrong. Whats needed is simply a time keeper. Not sure why Obama needed help from Crowley, or why she lied in her 15 seconds of fame. It's really sad when these blatent partisan assists are given, but its the world we now live in. Integrity has well passed and now Crowley is left with being the successor of the "Dan Rather honesty in jounalism award." Candy, not sure what you got out of it, but you have lost all crediability.

In no way was I looking for Candy Crowley to take such an active speaking part in last nights' program. All she needed to do was to steer the program and NOT interject her thoughts. We now know that the president had over 3 mins longer to speak than Governor Romney and the incidents of interruption for the president were minimal to the amount with Governor Romney. I"m not sure what kind of message you were trying to convey but it wasn't good.
I have already given up on CNN because of Soledad O'Brien and her pattern of acting better than everybody else; I thought I liked Candy Crowley but now I see that she wanted that debate to flow in the direction on the president and I feel that it was obvious to everybody watching the debate. Candy Crowley did a dis-service to the American public last evening. Her apology is, too little too late. Why in the world would she make a statement siding with one candidate or the other? And, why would she interrupt Romney 28 times and Obama 9 times? How was it she allowed Obama more time 44:04 minutes for Obama and 40:50 minutes for Romney?
She was a poor choice as moderator, her performance reflects badly on CNN, hinting toward a network bias toward the Democratic party and Obama. She should be ashamed of herself. With all the credible journalist, she was a sad choice.
Absolutely the moderator should correct either candidate when they so clearly speak incorrectly. No question. In my opinion debates should be tape delayed for a few minutes so that fact checks can be completed right then and scrolled across the bottom of the screen.
Secondly, as a voter I am sick of commentators that assume that Americans as stupid and can't think for themselves. I can tell when something is a good argument and when it isn't. I am not looking for memorable one liners. If that was the case a comedian would be leading in the polls.
I started watching CNN prior to Desert Shield in 1990. I watched faithfully while deployed during desert Storm and have continued periodically since that initial time. Increasingly I have found the commentary to move away from factual reporting to promoting an agenda. It was again apparent during the debate that Ms. Crowley was trying to help the current president. Soon CNN will only be left with liberal viewers if the obvious bias in the programming is not changed.
Candy, you should resign in disgrace. Your performance was awful and spoiled the debate. It's time to find a hole and climb in like the idiot you are. What make you think you are a journalist?? CNN should show you the door today and erase your name from its history books. This campaign has literally made me sick. How on earth can news media be so biased against one candidate. Candy Crawley is an absolute disgrace to journalism. If journalist cannot be unbiased then to me they are not worth listening to. I am an independent, tell me facts on both sides and I, like most Americans, are smart enough to decide for myself. I don't need to listen to lies from the media also. Candy Crawley should never be allowed on tv again. Obama did not show any remorse for the loss of these lives and she was definitely wrong in what she said plus interfering with the debate. I always kind of liked Candy Crowley's reporting, but her credibility and obvious bias has changed my opinion of her. She should not have directed any questions – if the "so called undecided voter" could not express their question properly, then maybe they shouldn't be voting. She continues to lie today and making excuses for her performance. And how do you come up with a large group of "undecided voters" in a strong democratic state? Especially when the state is populated by actors, such as Sara Jessica Parker, who are also millionaires living in million dollar homes? How can they relate. Obama's team are all "celebrities" not real honest working citizens....and let me express "Citizen". He chooses what laws to enforce......he has caused a severe racial divide in this country and stands and lies to the population because he counts on those not smart enough to evaluate his policies and fact check him. I have been a registered democrat for 40 years, but I am voting REPUBLICAN. WE can't keep spending money we don't have. We can't keep patronizing certain ethnic groups just to get a vote.
Candy Crowley was definately out of line interjecting herself into the presidential debate. Obama was flat out lying about WHEN he called the terrorist attack in Libyia what it was. His very first explanation "IN THE ROSE GARDEN" was that it was a spontaneous outburst stemming from a protest over a You Tube video!!! For days and days this was the assinine explanation from Obama, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton!!! He made reference to terrorist acts only after referencing 9/11 2001 NOT 9/11 2012!! Romney not only had to debate Obama he had to debate the moderator Candy Crowley!!! It was infurriating to say the least!!! Candy.....did you really feel as though you had to COVER for your candidate........unbelievable how underhanded and blatently slanted toward Obama this debate was!! It's amazing the Romney did so well considering you tried to cut him off at the knees.......you even chided him and told him to "sit down"!!! When Candy first began as moderator in the debate last night I felt that maybe I had been missing another source of getting my information. Candy appeared, at first, to be above board and fair. I like this girl I thought to myself but as the questions kept coming and the debate continued I realized CNN (because whether you like it or not she was representing the network) was just like the other newcasts. I about fell out of my chair when Candy "just happened to have" the exact Rose Garden quote President Obama was referring. Seriously? While the women's equal pay statement was important 10 – 15 years ago I did not feel it was a burning question with the voters of this great land. Then I discovered Candy chose the questions? Oh me! What a shame. A time to shine and gain more viewers but that is what happens when one tries to play politics and put a fix in the mix.
I watched the debate last night and was very disappointed with Candy Crowley as a moderator. She interupted Romney 3 times more than the President! She also became a participant in the debate. How arrogant of her. I am not voting for a democratic media person. I wish she would just keep her opinions to herself. If she is going to fact check make sure she gets it right. She is zero for one.
I think out of the three she was the worst, it was kind of clear who she was for in the debate. She cut Romney off when he should of had the last word a few times and this fact checking for the Obama. I think she caught herself and knew she had to say something for Romney to make it seem she wasn't playing sides. Right now I am not sure I am so much for Romney as I am that I don't want Obama again. It seems like everything is spin with him and his administration to the point of being arrogant and only their way. It almost makes you feel like they think everyone is an idiot. A good example is portraying Romney as a far right person. During the primary all the far right people said he was too liberal and not really a Republican, not to mention a former Governor of one of the most Democratic states there is. I am just tired of him and the Hollywood spin for everything...not to mention the media that only gives you their opinions any more and not facts equally to let you form your own opinion...where is Walter Cronkite when you need him.
Crowley was not hired to Fact Check. I thought it was so great that they hired a woman...how dissapointing! She overstepped the bounds several times most blatently with the Libya "fact" check and when Obama ignored the original question on Libya. Diid Obama say the word terror yes did he say this was an act of terror or terrorist attack no, he didn't. AHe was speaking in general terms that america will not tolerate acts of terror. Every day after that his administration denied it was terror as did He until very recently so, she was out of line. We were very disappointed in Candy Crowley's performance. She was way off several times especially re The Rose garden! For a moderator she had too much to say, and some of the questions were a poor pick. The moderators of the other debates were infinitely superior.

Crowley totally blew it with her lack of professionalism via subjecting her opinion into the debate. The fact that she was incorrect called into question the alleged "non-committed" voters in the audience.
I used to watch CNN as my primary news station, but not these days since they've obviously fallen over themselves while trying to suck up to the liberals. As a long-term registered Independent I stopped voting any party line years ago; I base my voting decision on what I believe the candidate might be able to deliver that aligns with my interests/needs.
Lots of luck CNN, you're gonna need it to survive in a world that's starving for unbiased, factual reporting...

Crowley, chose one of the biggest issues in the campaign to step in for the President. Disgraceful and sad, shows a lack of character. This is off this particular topic, but I wonder if Gov. Romney is going to file an amended tax return for the charitable deductions that he didn't clainm so that he could show he paid taxes at a rate of 14%.
Ms. Crowley's viewership has now been diminished as well as CNN. She failed in her first job as moderator to controll time and discussants. She failed in her second job in controlling time and failed to get one or two additional questions presented. Most importantly she failed in her third job as a non-biased reporter. She cannot fact check on the run. The managers of the broadcast shold have controlled the microphones based on time. In the length of programming allowed to have one discussant with 10% more time is rude and biased. Goodbye from this former viewer of Ms. Crowley.
Shame on Candy for saying Pres Obama called it terrorism in Libya we all heard for days blaming it on the Video! We lost four Americans and Candy took a side! That's why I can't stand to watch these debates. The media is so biased and I have No respect for CNN reporters any longer.

I liked the way Candy Crowley handled the debate. Yet she tarnished the entire debate when she became a participant. Now I hear the quote by Obama was not what Candy claimed. What a shame.
I have been a faithful viewer of CNN for many years and have not wanted to believe the medial bias argument from the right. But after watching Candy Crowley throwing the president an obviouuse life line yesterday during the debate when he was obviously in trouble and today Soledad Obrien trying to make excuses for it, showed me that CNN is not objective in its reporting. If nothing else Candy, who I use to respect tremendously, should have admitted her error. Therefore, I am done with CNN and will be turning to Fox News from now on. Good by CNN!
I was ashamed of the bias shown by Candy Crowley. She was an embarrassment the way she jumped in to save Obama and continually interrupted Romney. Candy no longer has credibility and demonstrated why so many people no longer watch CNN. CNN will continue to lose viewers. CNN is becoming irrelevant and deserve to fade off into the sunset.

The only way to control a debate when dealing with a politician is to impose a strict time limit, at the end of their allotted time mute their mike, and take the camera off them. At the next round of questions, the candidate would then have to allocate his time between the previous questions and the current question.
This was a disgusting show of bias from one whose role requires neutrality and fairness. In addition to this interjection, Gov. Romney was interrupted time and time again, while President Obama was allowed to continue way past his allotted time, resulting in an approximate three-minute overall advantage. Crowley should be reprimanded for this flagrant breach of journalistic integrity.
candy crowley admitted that she lied to the american people. she really should apologize for lying. she also tailored the questions in this debate for obama and against romney. she cut romney off 28 times to obama's nine times while giving obama 4 more minutes to speak. this debate was very poorly moderated and cnn owes the american people an apology. for cnn to make it look like romney was lying when it was obama that lied to the american people for a week straight after the attack is the most disgusting thing i've ever seen out of a news network. you people should be ashamed of yourselves
Nothing to see here -- CNN, Candy Crowley, doing what comes naturally and often and that is being the protector, facilitator and propagandist for the progressive movement. Snakes bite because that is their nature -- CNN's aiding and abetting the progressive movement- – Obama in this case - just comes naturally, as such bias is part of CNN'S DNA.
Candy Crowley is a perfect example of why the majority of Americans distrust the national media. She was such a disgrace as a moderator in the debate. Before this, I actually respected her, but no more. I am not a big Romney fan, but it felt like he was actually debating two people last night. I was embarrassed for Crowley and angry on behalf of the voters. WE deserved a moderator who would be a facilitator. She inserted herself into the fray in order to shape the debate instead of letting it evolve naturally. What a disappointment!
There is no way that Candy Crowley can be praised for being a moderator. I found her very offensive and most assuredly siding with Obama. I thought this was supposed to be a debate where the people ask the questions and the two candidates answered the questions. Obviously Candy was asking a lot of questions and to what purpose. We all know that CNN is a very liberal network and most assuredly does not give fair and balance reporting. Candy should be ashamed of herself. She is a woman that had the privilege to be a moderator for this debate and did no service to the women of this country. She needs to apologize to the American people for standing up for Obama when he was lying once again. She needs to do this on CNN.

First Crowley and then Bob Schieffer. Why not Soledad O'Brien who can just read questions straight from the White House or DNC Talking Points. She became a total "Budinski" with here fact checking – I mean WOW – give me a break. I don't care who you are for but don't fix the game. It is sophmoric, childish and a danger to our democracy. Obama does not need mommy to pull him through the debate by the nose. I honestly thought Candy Crowley was independent all these years. However, after seeing this debate, I now realize that she has strong left leanings. For an independent like me, this is discerning – I want a presidential moderator to be independent. From here on out, I don't know if I can trust her commentary on issues anymore. This is really disappointing.

Candy COWley should apologize to Romney and the viewers for how she handled the debate. She is the worst mediator ever and CNN should fire her fat behind for incompetence. She muddied the waters on more than one occasion and did not give to Governor Romney the respect that he deserves. I'll be changing TV channels away from CNN every time I see her face on the tube from now on and hopefully others that feel the same way will do so as well.
Candy Crowley's performance as the moderator for the second Presidential Debate was poorly done. She interrupted the candidates too often and was obviously more partial to letting President Obama speak longer when he wanted to. Her real faux pas was when she told Governor Romney that he was wrong when he pointed out that President Obama did not use the word "terror"in his rose garden speech about the attack on the Libyan Consulate. As far as I am concerned, she has lost her credibility as a fair and impartial journalist and that she should be removed from her position with CNN.
Regardless of whether Candy's statement was spontaneous or not, I am very disappointed and saddened by her comment. She did not represent CNN well at all!
The moderator position is like a referee n sports. Think about it. If this were a sport game like the NFL and the referee took a side. We would call that fixing a game. I believe that would be illegal. It also give that sport a lack of credibility. Well, the same thing happened on National TV in the Presidential debate. The moderator (referee) took a side. Was this fixed ? Did she and the journalist community lose credibility ? Sure looks like it. Just calling like most people see it.

What Candy Crowley did to Romney by agreeing with Obama's lie was abominable, but then liars of a feather lie together. She was very much on Obama's side and it was so obvious. She interrupted Romney so many times that it was obvious she was in bed with Obama. Also, according to the introduction, she supposedly did not have any contact with Obama or Rodney before the debate, so I want to give her the opportunity to explain why she so quickly produced the transcript that Obama ask her to get out if she had no prior interation with Obama. She was not professionally or ethically qualified to moderate the debate she was too bias and favored Obama. She was full of &#!% and she should have kept her mouth shut – oops! maybe that's why she's fat and cannot keep her mouth shut because her facelift was too tight so she has to keep her mouth open..
It was not her job as a moderator to interject and appear to take a side. Things like to are normal in places like Venezuela where there are fake elections and government control of the media. But her in the United States. I am very concerned and stunned by her actions. If this was ok to do on a national stage where else are we getting misinformation and bias from. This is a means of control for the masses. I hope I never see this again in my lifetime.
New rules need to apply for Presidential Debates:
Moderators are not allowed to journalists (FOX, CNN, MSNBC...).
Moderators are not allowed to pick and choose their own questions. They must be approved from an unbiased panel.
Debates must be held in a neutral setting.
Both speaker must adhere to a time so the louder one gets more minutes.
If a speaker is interrupted by the other that speaker gets extra time at the other expense.
There must also be a forum or a way to disseminate facts, plans, ideas and agendas of each candidate in detail. There is no way 1 or two hour debate informs the public.
The choice of moderators for the debates range from left leaning to almost liberal "foamers" Candy Crowley is an example of why networks such as CNN, MSNBC,and the major networks have such a credibility problem. From choosing such questions as "republicans caused the fiscal crisis, so how are you different from George Bush", to the question about AK-47's, she skewed the debate to liberal talking points. She actually assisted Mr. Obama in his effort to lie to the nation. Admitting she was wrong after the fact is pretty meaningless since the uninformed people in this country will never see it, and believe the lie they were told last night. Short of holding up an Obama 2012 sign, she did everything she could to throw the debate Mr. Obama's way. Perhaps if Cnn were interested in real news instead of promoting a political philosophy, more people would watch the network. Alas, business as usual..Media bias never dies.

She said more than that! She told Mitt he was wrong, "when he was correct" on a presidential debate, and it actually took Obama a week to even weakly admit there was NO protesters and that it was a planned terror act!

I believe that Candy Crowley should very publicly appologize to Mitt Romney for butting in on the point about Libya and should also admit that she was very wrong and Mitt Romney was correct about the issue that was at hand.
Candy Crowley for President! She did a fabulous job with two egotistical men, both of whom continue to try to "spin" the questions to their benefit. Perhaps to be expected considering the negative campaigns that seem to be the norm in todays politics. It's unfortunate we must rely on fact-checkers to interpret the speeches and responses to questions coming from both candidates and campaigns. I'm personally glad she called them both out on their interpretations of reality, and that she handled a difficult job with firm politeness!
Candy should have kept out of the debate! She did what she did for her own glory. She is NOT an unbiased moderator, her true support was evident last night. I am outraged that Candy used this platform to try and help Obama. She was wrong on the facts and she was wrong for interjecting!!! She should have let the CANDIDATES battle it out!!!!
Next time CNN stay the @#$! out of debates. I lost a LOT of confidence in CNN being able to report in an unbiased perspective.

I am an independent and leaning on the fence for Gov. Romney. All I want to say is that, "Candy was not being fair" Both in her remarks and timekeepping.

Candy was there to be a moderator and what she ended up doing was confuse and mislead the American people during a very important debate. It seemed obvious who she is supporting in this election. Next debate should be handled without the moderator asking the questions.
