CNN Sr. Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin says NSA leaker is 'in enormous trouble'

EX-CIA employee Edward Snowden came forward as the man behind the NSA leaks over the weekend and is currently in hiding in Hong Kong.

CNN Sr. Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin weighs in on Snowden's crime. He says it's clear Snowden broke the law and is in "enormous trouble." "He will certainly be investigated for it," Toobin says.

Please refresh your memory of Daniel Ellsberg and the "Pentagon Papers"
    See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Ellsberg
Mr Ellsberg got nowhere talking to Senators including McGovern and J. William Fullbright, who was chair of Senate Foreign Relations Committee at the time. So with no positive results from involving Senators, he went ahead and leaked the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times. One result, the creation of the "White House Plumbers" and Watergate. Edward Snowdon is a hero and did the right thing for the right reasons.

    Hey Jeffrey Toobin!

Who cares what some CNN talking head thinks. Ever head of Operation Mockingbird? If not, look it up.

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." - William Colby, former CIA Director, cited by Dave Mcgowan, Derailing Democracy

"You could get a journalist cheaper than a good call girl, for a couple hundred dollars a month." - CIA operative, discussing the availability and prices of journalists willing to peddle CIA propaganda and cover stories. Katherine the Great, by Deborah Davis

"There is quite an incredible spread of relationships. You don’t need to manipulate Time magazine, for example, because there are [Central Intelligence] Agency people at the management level." - William B. Bader, former CIA intelligence officer, briefing members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, The CIA and the
    Media, by Carl Bernstein

"The Agency's relationship with [The New York] Times was by far its most valuable among newspapers, according to CIA officials. [It was] general Times policy ... to provide assistance to the CIA whenever possible." - The CIA and the Media, by Carl Bernstein

Toobin is clearly a state tool. This is a dreadful and embarrassing performance, worthy of summary disbarment IMO. He's already convicted Snowden (as Obama did Manning) and impugned his character with twisted logic without even raising the slightest question or concern about the manifest crimes Snowden bravely, conscientiously outed. Shameful.

Toobin: “I think Snowden’s bizarre ideology…makes it even more bizarre(?)…I mean here’s someone who’s supposedly concerned about free speech and transparency and he goes to… one of the most repressive governments in the world. So I don’t think we’re looking at a coherent ideology here, where someone he’s upset, he doesn’t like government policy, but you know, we don’t usually make 29-year-old high school dropouts(?) decide what our policies are.”

Jeff, first, this is not about freedom of speech and transparency; it's about wholesale unconstitutional manifest crimes and presidential hypocrisy; it's beyond Nixon. But yes, I must agree, the CIA giving a high school dropout top-secret clearance is quite comical, worthy of MASH's Col. Flagg, and the rich irony of Snowden going to China is a truly delightful poke in Pharaoh's eye.

Toobin makes this about incoherent ideology. Folks should watch the Snowden interview for themselves and decide who's the raving ideologue.
