Storm Chaser Reed Timer is on 'Starting Point' with John Berman and Christine Romans discussing the safety concerns behind storm chasing after the death of two prominent storm chasers during a fatal, erratic tornado in Oklahoma. Samaras was known for putting safety first while storm chasing, and for his dedication to tornado science.
The death of the three men in Oklahoma left a community stunned over the weekend. Reed Timer was close friends with storm chaser Tim Samaras, who died on Friday along with his 24-year old son Paul, and fellow storm chaser Carl Young. Timmer says he “woke up to a nightmare’ upon discovering the passing of his close friends, and was 'astonished' to learn of the loss to the storm chasing profession.
Timmer says he knows Samaras will 'always be looking out for us as we're storm chasing moving forward.'
He wants people to remember Samsara for the contributions he made in advancing our understanding of Tornadoes, and all he did to help prevent the loss of life from Tornadoes.

Country singer Blake Shelton leads all-star lineup for Oklahoma concert for tornado relief
Country singer Blake Shelton will lead an all-star lineup at a concert to raise funds for victims of last week's deadly tornado. Shelton is a native Oklahoman. He will appear along with Miranda Lambert, Vince Gill and Usher tonight at a concert in Oklahoma City.

Nine-year-old Emily Conatzer's parents remember her as a 'fashion diva'
Nine-year-old Emily Conatzer was killed when a tornado struck her school in Moore, OK on Monday. John Berman met with her parents yesterday, shortly after they planned their daughter’s funeral.
“She was a fashion diva,” Emily’s dad Christopher Conatzer says. “She was beautiful. She always twirled around and had little ballerina dresses and she loved Lady Gaga. That inspired her to be a fashion designer and she would make stuff like this hat for me and made her own skirt.”
Emily painted her mom’s nails blue the night before the tornado. “She had it all over the place and I had to clean it up," Kristi Conatzer says. "But now I don't want to take it off.”
